Testimonials from previous visitors

This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed staying in the village of Langy. The house was excellent (the best we have stayed in over 15 years renting in France and Switzerland). The villagers were most friendly and the countryside most picturesque.

I'm writing to let you know what a good holiday we had at your Gite in Langy.
The accommodation suited us ideally; with 25 years experience of holidaying in France, we felt we ought to let you know how satisfied we were.

We have returned from France after spending a lovely time at your house. The house was lovely and spacious and the location was quiet and peaceful. We had an enjoyable time playing many games of boules in the square and became acquainted with Monsieur Vichy. The area is very much unspoilt by tourists and this is what we had been hoping for. Our French came on leaps and bounds as not many spoke English. Visited many towns around the area and enjoyed sampling the local wines. An area which should be more visited.

We loved the house; so spacious and such elegant high ceilinged rooms.
My husband was roped in to play in the Sunday afternoon Boules game in the square as they were a man short, so we felt quite at home very early in the holiday.

The house proved to be extremely comfortable for us and we found many good restaurants, especially good value at lunch-time.

We stayed a week at the end of August which included the annual weekend when the otherwise delightfully quiet Langy is bustling. On Saturday several hundred people came to enjoy the many hogs being roasted and to dance. And on Sunday the entire village hosted the brocante (flea market).

The house is well equipped, comfortable and spacious. The gardens are an attractive setting for al fresco dining.

Many interesting day and half-day visits are within easy reach of Langy. Vichy and Moulins are attractive towns for strolling, shopping and cultural events. We also took in the Arboretum de Baleine, the waterfall near Arfeuilles in the Bourbonnais mountains, the 11th century Romanesque church at Chatelmontagne, and the gorge and medieval chateau at Chouvigny.

We have returned safely from a very enjoyable holiday in your charming house, we all loved it. Sorry we were not there for the village 'Fete' last weekend. It sounded as though it would be fun.
